BTTH is certainly awesome as is everything written by I Eat Tomatoes whoops, I meant Heavenly Silkworm Potato: Wu Dong Qian Kun (Martial Universe), Duopo Canqiong (Fights Break Sphere), The Great Ruler, Yuan Zun. But all of those have a rather ridiculously overpowered mc...and don't get me wrong - we love that. His mc's are all supremely talented geniuses.

The thing that makes "A Record of a Mortals Journey to Immortality" interesting is how different the mc is from every other mc.

He is boringly average, he has negligible talent, average or below average looks, strength, ability and charisma. He is not fiery, heroic or outspoken, he is more of an introvert, he hates the spotlight and never draws attention to himself. He doesn't have a big noble clan or become the leader of one nor was his father the deposed patriarch or clan leader. He has no particular Big Revenge Story and no big famous duels.

If Han Li can be said to be above average in any area it would be his intelligence. This is a story about how a totally ordinary person slowly pursues immortality. True a long life will from time to time get you involved with war and upheaval and other changes and yes Han Li has his own reasons to fight from time to time...but when he does choose to fight...WATCH OUT!

Han Li will explode into action going from invisible wallflower to overwhelming his enemies with his power and especially his preparedness for his battles. If he is not confident he will win, then he won't fight and you would never even know he was there.

The opening scene is deceptive. It occurs hundreds of years into the future and in a far away land. While he did fight that monster and killed it for its demon core...that was no different than fishing and not all that much more dangerous.

Yes BTTH has overpowered MC....I started reading the novel recently, although the English translation I can tell from the way it is written .Its almost exactly like another novel of a manga I read - Apotheosis. MC is super overpowered there, to the point of that being the selling point of the story

Yep. Apotheosis is similar. I read quite a few novels, but didn't get too far into Apotheosis because of the paywall, and trust me I tried to find it for free everywhere but its just not available. But yes, quite a few of these wuxia stories feature a ridiculously op mc. Same with Isekai anime. That's why Fanren is different. He is...quite ordinary. He doesn't really have much of a cheat code, except for the magic bottle that produces a liquid elixir which can cause plant growth and especially can age magical herbs which is essential for xianxia magic systems which rely on alchemy pills for advances in cultivation.

I read the whole novel....You can skip it if you don't read a lot, the story is not top notch, also the manhwa depicts pretty well :)

Remake means the graphics it is a little bit enhance to high poly and textures too..but this is not what we want ,we need the new season the time/effort they consume here is helps a lot for the new season..but this remake reminds us also the fresh forgotten start of the story.

Dang. I was excited to be catching up with the newest season too. Turns out this is just a remake of the first season. A season I only just watched like two months ago.

Remake = new season coming soon (haha I hope)… my eyesight might not be the best at times (I blame online learning) but Fanren has always had good quality, I remember bragging to my mum about how almost realistic it looked and the cinematic feel it gave or was season 1 different from the rest in terms of quality.

Why bothering remaking this good anime.they are wasting time..instead remaking tale's of demons and god's because the animation is shit.
